What is the Volbella filler?

The Volbella XC is an innovative dermal filler by Juvéderm® that has a unique formula of lidocaine and hyaluronic acid (HA).

But the Volbella filler is unique because it contains smaller HA particles and allows Dr. Patel to treat delicate areas such as under-eye bags. The skin under the eyes is one of the most sensitive parts of the body.

Volbella treatment can be used to reduce wrinkles around the lips or define lip contours, soften under-eye hollows, or even smoothen marionette lines around the chin. Dr. Patel regularly uses Volbella fillers to treat skin concerns under the eyes.

Who is a good candidate for the Volbella filler?

After a consultation, Dr. Patel can determine if you’re a good candidate for the Volbella filler. She discusses your aesthetic concerns and areas you’d like to improve before developing a treatment plan that helps you achieve your goals.

In general, you should be over the age of 21 to receive Volbella fillers. It’s also important to let Dr. Patel know if you’re taking any blood-thinning medications or supplements. She may ask you to stop taking the medication one week prior to your Volbella injections as they may cause bruising.

What can I expect during treatment with Volbella fillers?

Dr. Patel works closely with you to design a Volbella treatment plan that you’re comfortable with. Prior to injections, she reviews the plan and ensures you don’t feel any pain or discomfort. Then, she uses a thin needle to deliver the perfect amounts of the Volbella substance to the predetermined areas. Volbella restores lost volume to your skin, while balancing the rest of your facial features.

Volbella filler results last about 6 months for the lips, but it can last up to 18 months or more for the under eyes*. You should maintain a good skin care routine to extend your results. However, you can always come back to Dr. Patel for maintenance filler injections.
