Botox and Fillers Untangled….
Have you ever wondered about the difference between Botox and Fillers? Is it the same? Is it used for same areas? Which would benefit you?
Botox paralyzes muscles to provide improvements in fine lines and wrinkles. Usually, Botox is used in the upper part of the face such as in the forehead, glabella or around your eyes. Years of squinting, concentrating or frowning can cause the skin to wrinkle in these areas. Elasticity over time decreases and those lines remain or even get worse.
Fillers are used in areas where there is a loss of volume. Examples of these areas would be the parentheses lines on your face also known as nasolabial folds, in your lips, cheeks, under your eyes or tear trough. As we get older, we tend to lose volume in our face and fillers help to restore volume in those areas to help you look more refreshed and rejuvenated.
Fillers and Botox work best when used together. As a general rule of thumb, Botox is used to paralyze muscle that causes wrinkles such as the number 11's between your eyebrows. Botox is also used for forehead wrinkles and for the lines on your face that make you look angry or worried. Fillers help to smooth out the contour of your face
